a new friend on my patio!

yesterday i was blessed.

never in my life have i ever had a stray cat come to my house. so imagine my surprise when i'm sitting on the couch, my mom is doing dishes in the kitchen, and i hear her yell, "there's a cat in the backyard!"

we have four cats. we are the biggest cat people that have ever lived. so we brought out some food and water, and now we're all glued to the windows hoping our new little visitor comes back. we couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl because we didn't want to spook it by getting too close, but we're already brainstorming names.

while we were outside watching it, we heard little sounds that could've just been birds in the trees, but also could've potentially been little kitten sounds. i swear, if there is a little pile of kittens somewhere near my house, all of my dreams will have been realized. we saw the cat go under our neighbor's back porch, so we assume that's where it's living, but we're setting food out every day to make sure it's eating. it didn't seem sick or malnourished, so it could literally be a neighbor's cat, but either way, we're happy to have a new friend!

so far we haven't seen it again, but i'll update if this cat becomes my new best friend...
